EPIC re floating LNG Terminal
LXL LLP advised an Asian company on drafting and negotiating an engineering, procurement, instalment and commissioning contract of an offshore LNG liquefaction plant in Djibouti.
In general terms the project involves the construction of a floating LNG terminal (the Gravidock), a docking structure (Gravidock) and the conversion of two hull units into Floating Storage and Offloading Units (FSOs) at SCM’s shipyard in Singapore, the transit of those units to an installation site in Djibouti and their installation and commissioning as a floating LNG plant.
The LNG plant is intended as part of an integrated project in Ethiopia/Djibouti involving upstream gas development in Ethiopia, a gas pipeline in Ethiopia and Djibouti and the LNG plant as a downstream operation.
